Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation £28.50

Double Wear is one of the most talked about foundations and has been on my wish list for ages. I had been put off trying it from some of the mixed reviews stating it's amazing and others it's too thick and 'cakey'. I was worried about it feeling heavy on my skin and wouldn't work with my dry skin. I got my hands on it as an early Christmas present and it's quickly become my favourite foundation!

Something that winds me up about this is that there is no pump. I really love the packaging, it looks classic and elegant, but when you're paying top price you would really expect it to have a pump. It does take practice to pour out the right amount and not waste any of the product.

Double Wear is a full coverage foundation and is thicker than other foundations I've used, but it's still easy to work with if you blend it into the skin quickly as it sets quite fast, I use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and don't need to set it with powder. The coverage is beautiful, it leaves my skin looking it's best, I've had compliments saying how 'flawless' my skin is! It covers pigmentation, scaring and blemishes amazingly well but still leaves my skin looking natural and fresh. I have dry skin so the matte finish put me off trying it, if I've been looking after my skin it doesn't highlight or cling to drier areas. I always exfoliate my skin and use a good moisturiser before applying Double Wear. I'm the shade 1C0 Shell, the best match I've ever had, it is pale enough and pink enough, it just matches seriously well. The shade range is good with a mix of yellow, pink and neutral tone shades.

The most impressive thing about Estee Lauder Double Wear is how long it lasts. I can apply this at 9am and it still looks good by 9pm, I just need to powder lightly once through the day. It's definitely not a Summer time foundation, but at the moment this is perfect and I am so glad I finally got my hands on it. I use this when I really want too look my best or know the day is going to be a long one. It gives me a lot of confidence knowing that my skin looks good and I won't have to worry about my make up disappearing through the day. I also find it photographs well, as I'm so pale it doesn't really wash me out but this is something I've heard others say it can do.

Repurchasing it is definitely going to sting and I still wish it had a pump, but this is full on head over heels love.
Have you tried Estee Lauder Double Wear?

Your skin really does look flawless! I've tried the double wear concealer which is incredible but I haven't tried the foundation yet, definitely on the beauty wish list! x

I've only ever heard amazing things about this foundation, so when my YSL finishes I think it'll be this one or Chanel Aqualumiere that's up next :o). Xx

I love Doublewear! I managed to treat myself beginning of the semester with the help of my student loan hehe, such a good product. I definitely know what you mean about needing a skill to pour the correct amount out of the pot, they should definitely invest in bringing out a pump for them.
I'm not entirely sure if I want to re-purchase this, after using it for some months now, I've kind of gone off it a little, I think because I use it most days. I'm thinking of getting my hands on the Doublewear light for day to day use and then the Doublewear just for occassions and long days, like you said.

It's quite frustrating that it doesn't come with a pump! I do love the product too though. I know what you mean about using it most days, it can get quite repetitive and I think you appreciate it less. I definitely need to try the Light version xx

That seems like a gorgeous foundation and does make your skin flawless. And can I say how you look like a doll in that photo especially with the curls and please take it as a compliment because you look so pretty.

I swear by this foundation. For the summer you can get the lighter wear range which is just as good but doesn't feel as thick. The only thing I find is that if you have a photograph taken the flash reflects off your face with the high spf and makes your face look white compared to the rest of your body. Great review and totally agree it needs a pump xx

This foundation looks really pretty on you! I do like it for nights out as it stays put, but it wouldn't be one of my favourites for during the day as I much prefer a lighter coverage foundation. It feels a little uncomfortable on my skin.. x

I've thought about trying this before and it does sound perfect for when my skin is looking its worst and my scaring, redness and dark circles are all playing up. I personally prefer a matte finish and I love the sound of it managing to last 12 hours, I'm thinking this might actually be the perfect foundation for me to use for filming work when I have a really long day but don't really have the opportunity to touch up x

Your skin looks amazing! I actually prefer this foundation when I'm having a better skin day, as if I have any kind of bumps/pimples on my skin I feel like it sits heavily on them and only exaggerates the problem which is really irritating. I can't say I'll repurchase it, but it's nice all the same and looks lovely on you!
